Meet Luna & Indigo

Welcome! We are sisters who were both born at home, four-ish years apart, into the hands of the same midwife in Virginia.

Growing up, our godmother was a midwife who worked for legislative change regarding birth choice in our state and our mother was a pre and perinatal massage therapist and labor doula. Needless to say, conversations around birth and birth care abounded.

Fast forward a few decades and here we are.

Indigo is an IBCLC and New York state-licensed midwife with 5 years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse in Manhattan hospitals.

Luna is a DONA-trained labor and birth doula (currently working towards certification) and a member of the NYC doula Collective—as well as a writer and illustrator.

We started Blue Moon Birth Care because we believe everyone deserves accessible, equitable, empowering, and continuous birth care.
